I have been a fan of Kristina Webb for a very long time and whenever she announced that she was coming out with a challenge book I got extremely excited and pre-ordered it that very day. If you have ever been familiar with a wreck it journal or one of the like, this is the type of format this book kind of follows. What I love about this book is that she includes a backstory about her personal life along with fun facts and pictures. Another thing that is great is that she includes so many of her personal drawings! They are extremely mesmerizing, and if you want to excel as an artist, it's really helpful to look at her artwork and learn from her techniques. Not necessarily copy her technique, but instead just learn why and how her work is successful. And of course she includes 50 fun and free hand challenges to help you unlock your personal creativity! From her conservative British background, Alice A. Bailey (1880-1949) led a life that took her in many directions. The Labours of Hercules

One of the easier to read of Bailey's very heady works, but non the less, contains a vast amount of wisdom and wonderful keys to self unfoldment. Each sign of the Zodiac is explained and its true purpose in this lifetime revealed. A great inspirational book to carry in the briefcase or suitcase, to read before a walk on the beach or in the woods.

a myth for each month

This book provides a mythical story about each of the 12 Labors of Hercules. Each labor corresponds to one of the astrological signs. There is a discussion about the symbolism of the myth after each one. Hercules represents each of us - a soul incarnate in matter, and the labors represent the difficulties and tests we encounter in the material world. It's fascinating to read the labor for the current month each month as we go through the astrological year.
Alice Bailey's books are somewhat difficult to read, but well worth it for the spiritual seeker. Her work has resonated with me as truth more deeply than anything I've ever read. It is highly mental material, and I can only read a few pages at a time. Any more than that gives me a headache.

KEY SYMBOLISM

I grew up knowing there was more to mythology then just stories and the Zodiac too for that matter. But never was hip with most peoples interpretations. This Bailey book goes beyond all others on symbology. All mythology and Zodiac signs have deep spiritual roots and this easy read has the answers to many questions I have had for years. Example. Where does 666 originate and its real meaning? This book gives all kinds of Bible symbolism even for Revelations. These preachers need to read this book and get their stories right. The main theme is the trials the soul goes through to reach perfection. Thats why so much bible symbolism is revealed cause Jesus went through the same trials. Myths and the Zodiac were created eons ago to teach spiritual truths before written language. If your looking to expand your mind on bible and spiritual symbolism and astrology this book is for you. They say there is no such thing as coincidence but at five years old I watched Hercules and Popeye cartoons made by Who? The publishers of the Bailey books. LUCIS Remember the flying pens?

The authors have designed the eighth edition of Teaching Secondary School Science: Strategies for Developing Scientific Literacy primarily for use by undergraduate preservice teachers of science. The text provides information and suggestions for teaching physical, biological, and earth sciences in the middle school, junior high school, and high school grades. It is also useful for graduate students whose undergraduate majors were outside the field of education, but for whom teaching middle and secondary school science is now a primary career goal. This book is also an important resource for graduate students and experienced teachers in courses concerned with assessment in science classes, curriculum development and reform, instructional problems, and current trends in science teaching. It may also be used as a guide and reference in workshops and institutes for teachers emphasizing strategies for inquiry teaching. The current emphases on science education standards are fully explained and brought to the foreground for science programs in this new edition.

The eighth edition retains the strong features of previous editions. Among these features are emphasis on active pupil involvement in learning, use of inquiry and investigative teaching strategies to provide experiences in solving real problems, gathering data to support hypotheses, discussion of the constructivist approach to teaching, and use of the learning cycle strategy. Many practical examples of successful teaching strategies are provided, based on the extensive science teaching experience of the authors.

Throughout the textbook, the theme of developing scientific literacy among science students is stressed. Included are suggestions for fostering the effective reading of science materials, developing the vocabulary of science, and raising the level of awareness of the interrelationships among science, technology, and society.
